Last Wednesday, my younger daughter Jinjie received an award for being “Best in Art” for her second year high school class. My wife and I attended the awarding ceremonies.
Second Year High School in Sta. Rosa, Laguna
That also ended Jinjie’s brief, one-year stay in that school, the Emmanuel Christian School in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Due to my father-in-law’s sickness for many months eventually leading to his death, we had to stay in Sta. Rosa and that meant Jinjie too needed to go to school in the same place. I’d say that Emmanuel Christian School is quite a good school.
First Year High School in Davao City
We just came from Davao City where Jinjie studied at the Assumption College of Davao from grade one through first year high school. But we had to move due to the nature of my work. Transfers have been a part of our lives as a pastoral family.
Third Year High School in San Fernando, Pampanga
Thankfully, Jinjie has been accepted at the St. Scholastica’s Academy in San Fernando, Pampanga. It’s again a new beginning for her — new friends, new school, new everything. That’s the life of a pastor’s kid being moved around a lot. But hopefully, they get trained in life through these difficult circumstances. This has been the same experience that my elder daughter went through — moving around to so many places.
Well, it was a good year for Jinie at Emmanuel Christian School. Just one year and she left as “Best in Art” for her class. Not bad.
