It's the Kadayawan Festival once again in Davao and it reminded me of Davao City. My family and lived in Davao for seven years and we enjoyed eating durian the whole year round. My wife and I just loved it. Davao is famous for its delicious durian which comes in many varieties. If you are not familiar with this kind of fruit, it's outer shell has lots of spikes all around it and you could get wounded with its sharp spikes if you're not careful. I once had that experience at one time when I bought durian. One accidentally fell from the table and hit my right foot! Ouch! That was some experience.
Anyway, one day as I was driving in the city, I happened to pass by the Magsaysay Park where lots of durian stalls line up on the street. Durian lovers also eat their durians right there and I've tried it myself -- and it was at midnight with some of my visitors from Manila.
But because of what I saw, I just had to park my car and instinctively, I grabbed my camera which thankfully can also shoot a simple videoclip. I just had to video what was going on. I saw durian workers tossing and catching durians! We used to jokingly say, "Let's play catch durian!" But I never thought is was possible until I saw it myself! Amazing durian workers of Davao! LOL.
