One week ago, I had a car accident. My car was hit by a ten-wheeler truck which made a big dent right above the left rear wheel area of my Ford Lynx. But thank God, I was alright. I was not injured -- just felt bad that my car had a big dent. Many sent me letters of concern about my well-being thanking God that I was alright. Those letters made me feel good. While I'm sure there are people who may not like me (for various reasons) personally, I'm glad that there a lot more people who are concerned about me. That really made me feel good. It's good to know that there are people who love you. That's really nice.
But just yesterday, I went to Vernel Motor Shop at around 8:00 a.m. to have the car fixed. After about an hour or so of pounding and using various kinds of hammers and other tools, the dent was no longer to be found. Vernel, the car body repair shop owner himself who was doing the fixing, did it so expertly. I was really impressed. So I left the shop at around 9:30 a.m. confident that when I'll come back later during the day, it will totally be fixed as the owner had promised.
So I commuted riding a jeepney on my way home. It was an interesting experience. There was something new that I never experienced before riding on jeepneys. From home, on my way back to the shop later in the afternoon at about 3:00 p.m., I have to get off and take another jeepney ride to SM Pampanga. What was interesting was that they have a special jeepney station if you want to go to SM Pampanga and/or Robinson's. I never knew that before. At the jeepney station, you need to pay in advance P8.00 at the booth where you will get a chip. Yes, a chip like in casinos or poker! Then you fall in line and give the chip to a guy before you enter the jeepney. That was something new and interesting to me.
Anyway, I arrived back at the motor shop at around 4:30 p.m. and to my surprise, the car was repainted, the dent was gone and it's ready for use again! I was impressed that they could do it in a day while other shops told me they could do it in 2 or 3 days. I thank my neighbor for leading me to this shop. Vernel, a kind and gentle person, has just won another satisfied customer. I like this guy.
