Two Brand New Tires
Just a few days ago, I bought two brand new tires for my car, a Ford Lynx. The other two tires are still relatively new so I didn't need to replace all four. One of the tires was worn out badly and worn out in the wrong place. It had to be replaced as I'm now traveling long distances back again. I don’t want to experience a tire exploding while I’m driving at high speed. I want to make sure that my rims and tires are in top shape.
Wheel Alignment
For whatever reason, my second-hand car’s wheel alignment is difficult to fix. I had it aligned in so many car shops already. I reckon that the previous car owner could have been in a car accident which misaligned the car’s wheels. But it seems to be doing much better now especially that all four tires are in good shape – two are brand new. Ever since I installed the two brand new tires (and had it wheel balanced), I haven’t experienced any vibration anymore when my speed reaches 110 kph. Although it hurts my pocket to buy two brand new tires, I’m glad I did. And just to make sure, I’m going to the car shop back again to have wheel alignment. It's better safe than sorry.

Hi Pastor Len, I had a similar experience last week. I heard a recurring knocking sound in the right front side of the car I was driving, a Hyundai Sta Fe. Upon checking, I saw some cloth caught in wires sticking out of the car's right tires. Upon parking in my destination I called Wheelers Club to have my spare tire replace the tire which was very, very badly worn out in the wrong places too. I checked the left front tire and it too was very, very, badly worn out with wires sticking out too.
I had the car sent to my brother-in-law who has a auto-detailing and service shop. Initially I taught it would only require two front tire replacements, wheel alignment and camber correction.
Rather, on top of the about, what was required was replacement of the "ball joints." It would have been a more dangerous situation I could be encountering in the future should the wheels detach from its main connections because of defective "ball joints."
My area of improvement is from now on I will be checking on a regular basis how the tires are wearing out. It should be even. I should also take note if the steering wheel has a tendency to go to the right or left which was what was happening prior to this incident. After the ball joints were replaced I noticed that the steering wheel goes straight ahead even if I take my hands off it.
I thought I'd pass this information to you.
